Pre + Post Tattoo
DEPOSIT
To confirm a scheduling date, you will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit. If you bought flash, your deposit is already paid in the $100 “purchase” price. For a custom piece, this deposit is your way of committing to your appointment and pre paying for the hours spent designing your piece. The deposit must be paid before your appointment and goes towards your total price!
Payment Options
Cash is preferred, or I have card options which include a 3% processing fee. I do not accept Venmo or CashApp.
CANCELLATION
I absolutely understand that life happens and that things change! As long as you provide enough notice ahead of time, we can reschedule you when another spot becomes available. This typically will take at least a month to get back on the books. Your deposit will be transferred to this new appointment. If you cancel or reschedule with too little notice, you may need to pay a second deposit in order to reschedule.
Cancelling appointments greatly affects me as a small business, especially with the limited slots that I have made available during this time. This disrupts my schedule as I am not able to move someone into the position in that short of notice; therefore forfeiting one of my limited slots. So, please be thoughtful in scheduling and understanding of how cancellations affect the business.
*This excludes sickness, or emergencies.
**Please don’t lie about being sick or in an emergency :)
HEALTH & SAFETY
Health, safety and cleanliness have always been my highest priority! As I have an immunocompromised household, sickness greatly impact me & my loved ones, so please reach out to reschedule if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness like sore throat, cough, fever, irregular/severe headache, etc. If you come to your appointment with even mild symptoms you will be sent home.
Additionally, if you yourself are immunocompromised, and have been cleared by your doctor/medical professional to be tattooed, please let me know & I am happy to wear a mask and take extra precautions in addition to the sanitation routine already in place.
As a neurodivergent individual, it is important to me to create a safe, comfortable experience. If you need a silent appointment, have sensitivities to small sound/sensation, I will do my best to accommodate your needs. I have a TV in my studio that can play music and has access to TV & movie streaming services, and have several sensory/fidget toys you are welcome to use during your appointment. Additionally, my studio has snacks, water, and glucose powder if you tend to get light-headed or are at risk of passing out during an appointment. I am always happy to take breaks as needed! :)
You are always welcome to bring a guest along or a comfort item, just let me know ahead of time so we can plan to make everything tattoo-safe during the appointment!
*If you have severe food or other allergies, please let me know ahead of time & I will always take this into consideration while scheduling & preparing for your appointment.
CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS
This is one of my favorite parts of the process! As an artist, I love working on bringing the vision to life, but it is also one of the most difficult parts of the process. Each design takes hours to complete and it is directly based on the expectations given during the request process. I work very hard to meet your needs, while also making design decisions that will translate well into a tattoo. When submitting a custom design concept, it is important to provide as much detail & reference as possible, as this helps me bring your vision to life.
Your design is sent for review the day before your appointment. If you have a few minor changes / add or subtracting of details, that is totally fine! I want to know all of those things before the appointment, that way I can have the design completely done before you arrive. I want you to love your tattoo and am more than willing to make appropriate changes to meet that need.
Examples of minor changes / edits to your design:
Adding or subtracting small elements (taking out a bee or lady bug)
Moving elements around to shift balance (removing/adding or shifting a leaf)
Examples of major changes that will require more than 30/45 minutes of edits:
Changing or shifting the entire shape or elements of the design
Redesigning the main structure of a piece
If you receive your design and upon review realize that you want to redesign / request major changes that will take more than 30 minutes of drawing, then you will be required to pay an extra $50 for changes. This is due to the fact that I have already spent up to 1-2 hours designing so far and redesigns will require a large investment of time.
Though I am absolutely open to making changes and recognizing when I have not drawn what you expected, I ask that you not use the drawing / editing time to decide what you want. As I book multiple appointments most days & plan/schedule according to the time I think each piece will take, we will not have time to make major changes to a design on the day of the appointment.
I have found that almost every design is approved immediately, especially when I have been sent a thorough request with clear expectations. The best way to approach your design is to be clear in what you want the visual to represent, but allow me the freedom to create it!
*In some cases for botanical/floral pieces, there will be elements that we freehand (draw directly on your skin during the appointment). I will always let you know ahead of time if this is the case & will plan your estimated appointment time accordingly.
PAYMENT
Cash payment is preferred, but I also have a card option available, which will include a processing fee of 3%.
Appointment Prep:
SKIN: Gently exfoliate the area of skin and lotion a week prior to your appointment.
SHAVING: Please, do not shave. Wait until you get to your appointment and I will shave the area as part of the skin prep. There is a high chance of you nicking your skin and causing irritation or an open wound, therefore making it a space that cannot be tattooed over. This is not pertaining to legs or regularly shaved areas of skin.
NUMBING CREAM: You are welcome to use numbing cream, but please discuss it with me prior to your appointment & let me know the kind you plan to use. I do not have a problem with it, but can change the texture of the skin and I need to be involved in the process if you choose to do so.
WHAT TO WEAR: Wear something that is comfortable for you and will give us easy access to the desired area. You can bring layers / options to ensure you feel completely comfortable while you are getting tattooed.
Leg / Thigh / Hip - I have found that dresses / skirts work really well. Or wearing a bathing suit bottom that can be untied on the sides. Something loose that can be moved around and adjusted to access the space.
Sternum / Rib - A loose sports bra and/or shirt that can be pulled up
DRINK WATER: Please arrive to your appointment having already eaten a healthy meal that will sustain you during your session. Bring water and some snacks if you have a long session. Your body is going to directly respond to the tattoo based on what is fueling it. All eating or drinking will be done outside. Please do not drink alcohol the day before your tattoo.
PHOTO: I love taking pictures of your piece when we are done! Solid / neutral color clothes work really well with tattoo photos because it allows the tattoo to pop and nothing distracts from the visual. This is just a recommendation. So, please dress for comfort and in whatever you would feel happy being captured in!
Post Appointment:
Please leave the Saniderm cover on for 24-72 hours.
Remove the cover immediately if you notice that your skin is getting irritated around the edges of the plastic OR if the corner peels and exposes the tattoo.
Take it off by running it under warm water. While running it under the water, peel a corner up and pull it away from the skin. Then, slowly pull the plastic off. Similar to a command strip, rather than a bandaid.
Clean the tattoo with an unscented soap and pat it dry. Then, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion/preferred tattoo salve.
Continue cleaning it when you shower and after sweating.
Do not itch, scratch, or pick your healing tattoo. Remain out of direct sunlight and do not go in a pool during the entirety of your healing, as this can cause damage.
It takes up to 30 days to fully heal.
